Can I park my vehicle here?

With Winter around the corner, parking bans are beginning to take effect in Winnipeg! Seasonal restrictions are put in place to help keep roadways open as snow and other obstacles begin to pile up.

Avoid being fined or having your vehicle towed by familiarizing yourself with seasonal restrictions, as well as the year-round parking bylaws that you probably didn’t even know about!

Need to clear space on your driveway? Store your vehicle here.

1. Front Yard Parking Restrictions

From May 15 – October 31, you are not allowed to park or store a recreational vehicle, motorhome, or travel trailer on a driveway in the front yard of a property if another recreational vehicle is already parked or stored in the front yard.

From November 1 – May 14, you are not allowed to park or store a recreational vehicle, motorhome, or travel trailer on a driveway in the front yard of a property at all.

You are not allowed to park or store a vehicle on the driveway if, at the time of placing the vehicle on the driveway, the number of vehicles is already at the maximum*.

*Maximum vehicle allowance is defined as:

  • Two vehicles, if they are not parked in tandem; or
  • Four vehicles, if they are parked in tandem.

You are not allowed to park or store a vehicle anywhere but the driveway or parking pad. This includes any part of the front or side yard of a property unless that part is a driveway or other area that has been modified for use as a parking area.
